Energy Efficiency Services
Energy efficiency services through our Mendo-Lake Energy Watch partnership include: educational opportunities/workshops, energy auditing, and possible financial incentives for lighting retrofit projects (depending on results of audit). The agency runs a variety of community and economic development and energy efficiency and sustainability programs.
We are currently providing no-cost benchmarking services to all local government entities. Our goal is to benchmark all government buildings in Mendocino and Lake County so that government entities (i.e. cities, school districts, etc.) can track and monitor energy cost savings and consumption over time.
Ultimately the purpose of benchmarking is to assess your buildings’ base level of energy performance to determine if you (the customer) might benefit from an energy efficiency project.
We utilize an online system known as the EPA “ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager” that allows us to compare your buildings with each other or with similar buildings nationwide. If you do decide to undertake a project, this system makes it easy to visualize and track energy performance over time.
The information we generally collect for each building is the following:
- Property Name
- Property Address
- Total Gross Floor Area of Property
- Irrigated Area
- Year Built/Planned for Construction Completion
- Number of Buildings
- 12 consecutive months of energy data
With this information we are able to perform a basic benchmark of each of your buildings regardless of their building type.
If you are interested please let us know and we will explain the simple steps to have your buildings benchmarked.
Note: Our services also include lighting retrofit projects so if you do determine that you would benefit from an energy efficiency project, we may be able to assist you with that as well and even offer you financial incentives to help pay for the project.
